Latham offered you a SA spot in March?

I know 5 or 6 associates there and I practice in SF. L&W is legit. If you want to PM me, I can give you info re: office culture and practice area emphasis.

MOFO is big here because it's SF-based. But prestige is really idiosyncratic and really only comes into play when you're getting hired out of law school or lateraling.

This is a 1L offer? What does "top dog" mean to you? Is there a metric for that?

imho, LW SF is a much stronger outcome than Mofo SF. Mofo has an exceptionally sweatshoppy rep here, and if you look at chambers and partners, you'll find they lag behind Latham and Gibson in a number of bands.
