How long do I wait for an offer before I reach out?

Hello,

Not Biglaw... I went for my second interview with a NYC agency almost 2 weeks ago. Was told that they are making offers "very quickly." The wait has been eating me alive. How long should I wait before I reach out and ask "any update?". Is asking that question recommended at all? What are the chances they just forgot about me?! Any suggestions are much appreciated.

At most a day or two. At this point your best shot is to use the internet to find your interviewer's home addresses, and mail them gift baskets. This will demonstrate your ability to be a self starter, find out critical information and take initiative. In terms of the gift baskets, I'd urge you to avoid sweets or anything that may contain wheat unless you first call them at the office to make sure they're not allergic to gluten.

Reaching out tomorrow or next Monday just asking for a general update, reiterating your interest, and apologizing for any inconvenience is fine. Best of luck, anon!
