Title: School health insurance expires on Aug. 31st, firm coverage starts June 1st. The next time I can enroll in the firm's plan is "in the fall," which is also when I start. Can/should I waive coverage and enroll in the fall to avoid double paying for 3 months, or just not bother with it?
Posting on TLS because I's curious what other people have done.

Starting a new job is a qualifying event which will allow to get on the firm's plan on your firm's plan on your date of hire. If you are starting in Sept., you can just join then. Private insurance or state exchange insurance is also available if there is a gap.

Yeah, I have the same exact situation. Asked the HR contact at my firm and was told to waive coverage and I'll be able to join the plan as soon as I begin.
