When are memos supposed to be released?

Early next week/Tuesday evening

Traditionally the associates will get their comp memos tomorrow (Friday) and then the NSPs early the week after, Monday into Tuesday depending on how quickly they move.

The part of me that loves TLS and wants it to survive wants to tell you to just stay here. To be fair, TLS has the best quality discussion of any of the law places on the web; the comments here are the most thoughtful.
But as far as post volume as we've been discussing today Fishbowl now blows this place out of the water. I'm participating there too now and this specific topic is getting probably 10x more comments in the past 6 hours there vs. here. I think the owner needs to consider undoing the registration requirement if he wants the place to survive long term.

For law school advice and law school admissions, I think Reddit is now king. For actual legal practice and BigLaw it’s growing, but I think the average age is way lower than TLS. All the law students and young associates who used TLS during its heyday are now seniors and partners, so they have a ton of wisdom to share. BigLaw Reddit is mostly like 2nd/3rd years and younger, because that’s the demographic that aligns with when Reddit law school admissions really blew up around 2017/2018.

My guess is eventually the post quality on Reddit will match TLS, when the bulk of Redditors reach the same seniority.

Fingers crossed they go out today. It's possible we might not get them until M / T of next week. Just for the hell of it I went through my e-mail to look at old comp. memos. I think you're right that they start going out around 5 Eastern but when you get your memo depends on where you are in the list -- I've gotten them as early as almost 5 on the dot and as late as after 10.

In 2021 I got my comp memo around 8:45pm ET, but fingers crossed it’s earlier!

Haha I remember there were ppl on TLS saying "be careful" that somehow someone is monitoring the doc logs and might see that you opened up your memo before it is circulated.

I worked at Kirkland for 5 years and did it every year. Maybe that's why I didn't make shares!

Agreed. He said they were working to make them more transparent on methodology, so they’d take longer and would likely come out on Tuesday.

I worked at K&E for four years and did this every year. Nobody gives a shit. It's your own comp information; there's just a delay between the automated process to create the memo and the automated process to email you about it.
