I think this forum is the one that's dead. Shame because Reddit is a bit...how do I say this without being elitist...too big of a net and too anonymous to know whether someone is posting based on their experiences in biglaw or based on their experiences at the biggest law firm in New Mexico. Haven't tried fishbowl - the part about signing up with my work identity known is not something I really want.Dr Tobias Funke wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:54 amReally weird that no one has chimed in yet with a better explanation. In years past there would be 4 pages of posts comparing hours/years/ratings with clear explanations of multipliers and total bonus by now. Kirkland, are you ok?!Wanderingdrock wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 7:32 pmThat's the most reasonable way to read most of the discussion so far, but a comment a couple of pages back makes me think the "merit" bonus is independent of the multiplier....? Maybe.Dr Tobias Funke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 3:57 pmSo instead of the black box multiples, they moved to
market + ($2k for hitting 2000 hours) + ($1k for every additional 100 hours)? So the Kirkland shatters bonus for 2400 hours would be $6k?
That can't be right.

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Everyone is over at fishbowl. I signed up a couple weeks ago and haven't looked back. It's insane how quickly things have changed here. People just don't seem attracted to a message board format anymore. I say that with all due respect to the great community that existed here.Dr Tobias Funke wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:54 amReally weird that no one has chimed in yet with a better explanation. Yeah there are currently 96 comments on the bonus thread for the K&E fishbowl, plus a variety of other threads about it. Tons of data over there.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 3:51 pmEveryone is over at fishbowl. I signed up a couple weeks ago and haven't looked back. I tried to get into fishbow, but wish they have reddit like sorting options. I just can't be arsed to scroll through all the posts aimlessly.

New to the app. Are some bowls inaccessible to law students? Are firm bowls accessible only to those employed by the respective firm?

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Yes, you need a firm email address to access that firm’s bowl. The Kirkland bonuses were marginally above market for people with good review ratings and high hours so not much to see.TLS1234321 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 5:37 pmNew to the app. Are some bowls inaccessible to law students? What fun is that if people who don't work at Kirkland can't troll people who work there?

It’s pretty bleak even without the Kirkland trollsDr Tobias Funke wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:55 amWhat fun is that if people who don't work at Kirkland can't troll people who work there?

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
The fact that they can’t is literally THE primary value of fishbowl lol. People are always posting fake shit about firms they don’t actually work at (especially Kirkland) and it’s so nice to have a forum that’s anonymous, but I can know for sure that whoever is posting is actually a current or former employee.Dr Tobias Funke wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:55 amWhat fun is that if people who don't work at Kirkland can't troll people who work there?

To drop one random data point here, as a first year I got 1.25x bonus @ 2200 hours.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 7:55 amYes, you need a firm email address to access that firm’s bowl. Right, you need to register with a valid Kirkland email (otherwise how would they verify you’re legit?). But if you leave the firm, it’s not like Fishbowl is aware so you can stay in the bowl.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 3:25 pmI'm a former Kirkland employee and I can't access the Kirkland bowl.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 11:45 amThe fact that they can’t is literally THE primary value of fishbowl lol. Any chance someone could copy/paste or somehow provide access to the Fishbowl content? Can't get access and totally in the dark out here.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 6:36 pmYes that's the billable year.
