Bar app asks: "Have you ever been named a party to any civil action?"

I brought a suit in small claims court a few years back. Does this count as being named? e.g., naming myself...? The additional form asks questions about whether the judgment has been satisfied and shit.. Doesn't really seem like what they're after but I don't really know what it means to be "named"...

Thx

Yes, just disclose it. Even though it's highly informal, there was a decision in the case at some point (the judgment), and you brought the suit, so you're the plaintiff.

I was named as a "defendant" in one of these. I was found 0% liable, aka the judge thought my ex-roomate (the "plaintiff) was full of shit, which she was. I disclosed. It didn't even come up in the C&F interview. I think the case was something like 7 years old.
