Can anyone give me more information about the program/firm? I did a quick search, but there didn't seem to be much that was recent, and nothing really addressed the Minority Scholar program. I have an upcoming interview, and I was just wondering what my chances are/what this means for OCI next year with them, if anything. Any insight/anecdotes are appreciated.

Well really not to be short but you gotta give a lot more information than that! Understanding you probably want to keep your anon, but what grades/school/interviewing skills/previous work experience all determines your chances at interview. Chances are worse off than at oci because they'll take very few 1ls (minority included).

As far as OCI hiring goes for next year, it won't mean anything at all. It certainly won't make your chances worse (you got an interview) but whether it makes your chances better is another story.

Honestly, I kind of panicked and didn't really think this through, so I probably can't expect information on my chances. But I'd still appreciate anything people would be willing to share about the firm's culture/how it differs from office to office. Browsing TLS indicated they make diversity more of a priority than most firms, but it would be great to have more information.

Former 2L SA here.

OP can you be more specific regarding what you would like to know about firm culture?

As for the 1L minority program, I'm not too familiar with it, but I know that the 1L SAs are not assigned to particular practice areas and can rotate around practice groups.

There were also a lot of 2L SAs that returned after summering as 1Ls.

I was just looking for something I could discuss in the interview/how to seem like a good fit for the firm.
