Does anyone have a clue of the range of salary for this sort of position in NYC?

Depends. I started as a BSA Compliance Specialist at $12/hr at a small bank just out of college. Admittedly I was underpaid though, should have probably made at least $35-40k. A friend who works at a different bank is almost 35 years old, so a good way into her career, and makes $60k. My boss at my last job was Compliance Officer and had a JD from Drake in Iowa, she made six figures. Not sure exactly how much. She was around 45, so also a good way into her career.

From Glassdoor: Citi, NYC, Compliance Associate, Any Experience
Base salary range: $97-120k (avg. $108k)
Cash bonus range: $7-31k (avg. $19k)
Total compensation: $118-136k (avg. $127k)
Small sample size (only 2 met the criteria), but perhaps a good starting point for you.

This looks to be about right. I know compliance jobs in NYC for big banks in general start at low six figures...salary is pretty decent. Work is of questionable interest though, depending on the position.

The position is a 2 year rotation through various compliance divisions.
Starting salary in 2015 was 95k + (7-20% bonus depending on performance).
After 2 years, everyone in the class is promoted to "Vice President" of whatever division they choose/put you in. It's kind of a fancy title as there's obviously multiple VPs but I imagine the salary is pretty decent.
My friend works 9-6 M-F.
