Does anyone know whether failing an FBI lie detector test to become a Special Agent precludes you from becoming an AUSA?

Did the letter say that your rejection was due to failing the test? If not it could have just been a tactic the handler was using and you were rejected for something else. In which case I don't think it will hurt you.Anonymous User wrote:OP here.
Not a troll. I was denied a job as a FBI SA for failing a lie detector test. The proctor said I lied when he asked me if I was being truthful on my background investigation form. I said yes, and he said that I failed that question. I know its cliche, but I believed I was being truthful and maintained that. He said I was lying to him again and the only way to salvage my application was to tell him the truth. So I said I was telling the truth and I got the rejection in the mail.
That was about 6-7 years ago. I am currently working as a prosecutor in NYC, but exploring my options. All insight is appreciated.
Yea did you ever even have an offer contingent on clearance?Anonymous User wrote:Did the letter say that your rejection was due to failing the test? It's been a while, but I believe yes to both questions. I had an offer that was contingent on clearance, which was rescinded when I failed the polygraph and the letter stated that the failure was the reason for the rescission.Desert Fox wrote:Yea did you ever even have an offer contingent on clearance?Anonymous User wrote:Did the letter say that your rejection was due to failing the test?
