1L Fall grades at CCN- how bad is bad?

Ended up with a 3.22 at one of CCN with a few B+, and one straight B. What does this mean for jobs for 1L summer and then going into interviews for 2L summer? I'm not sure if this GPA totally writes out firms in the V50 range.
I'm also concerned that I just have no clue how to do better. I'm planning on meeting with professors to go over exams, but are there any other suggestions that others have found helpful?

You should be fine if you bid wisely. Obviously the elite firms are most likely out of the equation, but barring terrible interpersonal skills and poor bidding, you should get a market-paying Biglaw job.

CCN 3L here. Had a 3.11 first semester, raised it (barely) to 3.19 after spring semester. Ended up at a V25 firm in a non-NYC competitive market. OCI wasn't easy, but it all worked out. You probably won't get a 1L SA, but I would say don't sweat it for OCI.

Op here- what about for V25 in NY market? I got the sense that NY is sort of the safety market to apply to, but is this wrong?

I also had an offer from a NYC firm in the V30s, withdrew from a few pending CBs after my two offers.

Definitely apply to NYC. Much larger summer classes, and going to CLS or NYU definitely helps. I feel pretty lucky that I got an offer from my non-NYC market.

Thank you, that helps! Did you have ties to your non-NYC market just out of curiosity?

Yup, I grew up there/parents still live there.

You can just say NYU/Columbia since UChi does weird grades

You're straight in the middle of the pack right now. Nothing to worry about. I know a lot of folks who started with B+/B+/B and raised their grades in the fall to land fancy firms at OCI. You're not in a great position but not a terrible one either. You'll be fine.
Bad/concerning grades would be B/B/B- or something like that.

You can just say NYU because no chance a Columbia 1L has all of their grades yet

Way to out him, guys. Now everyone knows that someone at NYU has sub-median grades!

OP is at CLS, I assume
Below median grades still rake in the offers so long as you're not some weirdo with a twitch and can handle a short 20 minute, mind-numbing interview with someone that is milking you for "professional development" hours
