Can confirm that Chicago's class stayed at 36, but NY's office actually went 70+ b/c of 1L hiring, and they're looking to have a larger class size next year in NY and Houston offices.Anonymous User wrote:wtf happened with the UChicago/NU numbers? Surprised to see Sidley has ~30 more summers than Kirkland. Was that intended or did they just have a higher yield than expected? Also surprised to see so few Northwestern and UChicago students headed to Kirkland.Anonymous User wrote:Can confirm that Chicago's class stayed at 36, but NY's office actually went 70+ b/c of 1L hiring, and they're looking to have a larger class size next year in NY and Houston offices.Anonymous User wrote:wtf happened with the UChicago/NU numbers? Re: Summer Classes 2016 Edition--Distributions in OP
Sidley had a small summer class last year and I believe they were unhappy with their yield - some students picking Kirkland and others going to other markets over Sidley. They have also done a lot of 3L hiring - I know of at least two or three 3L hires alone, plus someone who opted out of their intended market a week before graduation to go there. I've heard their corporate department is really understaffed but 60 sounds way aggressive. Kirkland seems happy with where they are and don't seem worried about recruiting more. The UChicago numbers are only 3 less than they were last summer, which is probably attributable to random class differences. The NU numbers are a little low but not so low given the overall class size.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Surprised to see Sidley has ~30 more summers than Kirkland. Source: was in one Sidley/Kirkland's summer classes and have friends at the other firm working there now.
