After how many years in BigLaw do law school transcripts no longer matter?

I would imagine that if someone were to quit a BigLaw firm less than two years after graduating from law school, future employers would still want to see their law school transcripts, but after how many years as an associate does it no longer matter?

Once you make partner and have a book of business you will probably no longer be asked for transcripts. However, the importance diminishes with each year out of school.

Non-biglaw employers care a lot less about the academic side of things.

Depends on the new employer. I know people who've left after 2 years and didn't have to send a transcript, and some who left after 6 and did. Personally, I had an offer three years out where they didn't even look at mine.

When I looked 5 years out, transcripts were still requested (and made a difference) at grade-conscious firms.

I'm sure there is no way to really tell, but does anyone know if employers down the road actually care what classes you take? I fully plan on loading up on seminars rather than doctrinal classes like evidence, con law 2, etc, that i have zero interest in. No way it matters what classes we actually take, right?

My firm still looks at law school transcripts even for partner laterals.

My firm also req's transcripts from partner laterals

A corp partner was giving a talk during the summer to the SAs, and mentioned how the hiring partner (jokingly) gave him crap for his lowest grade being in sec reg (which he is now widely regarded as a leading expert on)
