Post OCI Acceptance

Is it normal not to hear anything from a firm after you accept an offer? I called one of the partners I interviewed with to accept, and then signed and mailed back the letter of acceptance I was sent. Haven't heard anything since then.

V100, by the way.

They might reach out again in December or March or something

If you're really concerned about it I guess you could email recruiting to confirm they got your signed offer letter.

Pretty normal - it'll probably be "radio silence" until closer to your start date, unless they need some information from you. The only thing I've heard from my firm post-acceptance was them wanting to know whether I wanted to do eight, nine or ten weeks for my internship.

Thanks for the replies. I was a bit concerned after not hearing anything back, but it appears that actually hearing anything back is the exception and not the rule.

I just dug through my old emails, and this was the timeline for my internship last summer. It was a 1L gig, so the timeline was a little bit compressed compared to the 2L process:

January 28th - received email copy of offer letter

February 18th - received request to fill out a "Section Placement Questionnaire" and submit a photograph.

May 1st - "First Day Orientation" instructions, I-9 form, summer social calendar, and a "Facebook" of all of the summer interns. (Start date was May 18th)

my firm didnt send me anything to sign and send back. i called and accepted with the partner, and then spoke with the recruiting person. i then emailed the recruiting person to confirm that there was nothing to sign and that the offer was accepted. she said that I was good to go. Just email the recruiting person if you need confirmation. in my case it didn't seem like a big deal and she was happy to assuage any fear--im sure they get those kinds of emails all the time.
