Quitting secondary journal as a 3L

So I know this topic has come up before regarding quitting post-OCI, but I'm actually interested in quitting my secondary journal as a 3L who worked as an SA this summer and received a full-time offer. I'm also on law review, which I plan to stay on.

Long story short, I did all the work as a 2L leading up to my actual firm employment, but I'm just no longer interested in being on this journal.

I'll gladly take it off my resume and would even inform my firm of it seems necessary, but that last part seems like overkill.

Is this OK or does it look as bad as quitting post-OCI as a 2L? If it matters, this journal does not require a 2-year commitment and there was no write-on. I think pretty much anyone can join.

I thought I read another TLS'er saying he called his recruiting person at his firm and asked them first.

- and they said it was cool, I doubt results differ
