I haven't heard from like 8 firms that I did screeners with. I had great grades, but I'm a pretty horrible interviewer. I assume they've all got me on hold in case something horrible happens to other candidates.

I got a King & Spalding CB this past Wednesday after an early August screener at OCI - said they take a small class but still have some spots so are reaching out to people

For Biglaw, I'm guessing not a lot. You should continue to mass mail, and you can just hope you score an interview.
Still, if you have struck out you should continue to monitor your school's symplicity page. At my school several regional mid-sized and stronger small firms have posted job ads for on-campus interviews they are holding in October. Even one biglaw firm posted that they will be holding on-campus interviews at my school in October. It is a secondary "biglaw" firm that pays a bit below biglaw market. Still, these firms pay well enough that if you can get an offer at the end of summer you will be able to live somewhat comfortably while paying off crushing debt. Not as nice or as prestigious as vault ranked biglaw gigs or even market paying mid-sized firms, but still better than a lot of other options.

I reached out to two firms around 9/1-9/2 and received callbacks for both of them (which I did 9/10-9/11). However, I definitely got the feeling that it was outside of the ordinary and a bit late in the process to expect that to keep happening.

Just apply. I did 40+ applications last night and this morning (mostly DC) and already have 1 callback finalized and two more being discussed.

Top 1% in a mid-30, transferred to a top 3 school. So yes, good stats, but my point was that there are firms still interviewing people.Anonymous User wrote:Stats?
30ish DC firms, most of which were in the Vault 100.Anonymous User wrote:Where did you apply in D.C.?

TLS is so FIERCELY risk averse and anon-obsessed, I wouldn't trust anyone on it to give me a list of firms worth applying to (or not worth applying to). Also, people in law school always think they're competing, I wouldn't expect them to give their perceived competition for jobs some good leads.
I would definitely apply to all of the firms and see what happens.

Zuck, thoughts on following up to applications you haven't heard yay or nay? Does two weeks pass the threshold of pestering?BigZuck wrote:TLS is so FIERCELY risk averse and anon-obsessed, I wouldn't trust anyone on it to give me a list of firms worth applying to (or not worth applying to). Re: Firms still doing CB
I mass mailed some firms in early august (NY and DC), followed up in September and got a callback because of the follow up. After I followed up I got a bunch of rejections, but it doesn't hurt. All they can do is ding you. Weil (NY) was doing callbacks last week and possibly this week.JustHawkin wrote:Zuck, thoughts on following up to applications you haven't heard yay or nay?
