Following up with this, does anyone know of a website for looking at retention rates of various firms?

Found this: http://www.betterlegalprofession.org/Attrition but it only estimates the attrition rate from 2010 to 2011

A monkey could do junior associate transactional work, so I think it would be incredibly boring. But, they also have much better exit option$ than lit associates. I think transactional associates have more fire drills, so the work can come in waves... but the latter is also true to some extent in lit, fwiw, depending on how good the partner is at case management. Ultimately, I think the question is whether you like doing legal research and writing. If yes then go lit, if no then go transactional.
