OP again. We don't scream at each other on a regular basis (and hopefully won't start to anytime soon haha) and I think both of us are capable of being mature and professional at work. We actually started at law school together, as in we were dating well before law school and decided to go to the same school. So it's pretty long term and we made it through 1L just fine.
Obviously easier said since the relationship has been going well. And I completely understand that working is a different animal. As for what would happen if we take separate jobs, both of us do have other good options and we'd be able to discuss it and work it out. And yes, the summer class at this V5 is typically pretty large.

Give employer a heads up (just the recruiter). Doubt they would care, probably will think it's good. Both go, have fun. Should be a fun summer. At a V5, firm is big enough that you could break up and it wouldn't be that awkward. You're both summers so no worry about nepotism at all.

I know 3 sets of couples who went to the same firm this past summer (1 of whom also both split overseas). They all got offers and 2 sets are going to the same firm in different practice groups. Where I was this past summer there were like 6 intra-firm marriages. None were between 2 attorneys, but the impression I got was that it wouldn't be a problem. I'm now dating one of my co-summers, if that gives you an idea of how much I think a relationship like that would matter.

OP, notice that only law students said to do it and every practicing attorney said not to

The people saying do this are unmarried law students in their early 20s. Attorneys and people in their 30s (me): there is nearly a 100% chance this is a huge mistake.
