Focusing on investigations/FCPA/white collar. Wanting to exit into government eventually, ideally in a policy-type role. Truly conflicted about living in either NY or DC -- I'm drawn to DC because of the proximity to government (and it's a very livable place), but I've also lived in NY before and love the city.
If you were in my position, what would you do?

You would get a lot of FCPA work at Cleary in a very reputable department. Worse quality of life than the DC firms, though. Among those I'd do Sidley.

Any way you can split between NY and DC? As mentioned before, Cleary has a really strong FCPA practice.

According to firm websites, splitting is permitted on a case-by-case basis. Cleary stipulates that they require the first seven weeks of your summer.
