Can't seem to find much discussion on K&L Gates callback/offer for this year. I had my callback almost 2 weeks ago (8/17) but haven't heard anything since.

Has anyone received an offer from K&L Gates? If so, when was the callback and offer?

FWIW my cousin had a cb with K&L at the very beginning of August and hasn't heard a thing, and she's on LR at T6. So maybe they take awhile?

I had cb with them on 8/17 too. Haven't heard back either

CB on 8/26 haven't heard back. Since they have smaller class size they probably want to see all the candidates before they send out rejections?

i don't know how long it takes to get the offer but the no offer usually comes after you summer. also, not sure how many offers they are about to be sending out right now as theyre hiring committe is probably also meeting re who to lay off in the upcoming mass layoffs.

To the Anon posting re: RTP,

Have you had a callback already or just an initial screener? I had a screener over the phone a little over 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back from that.

I had a callback at RTP last week but haven't heard anything since.

I know of at least 2 offers from the Chicago office, but what does everyone think about them losing a ton of partners recently? Red flag?

I got an offer at the Chi office. Interviewed 8/18, offered 8/26.

What's everyone's take on K&L? I've heard such mixed comments b/c they had a significant amount of partners leave and didn't give all of their summers offers... Is k&l going under?

I personally don't think they're going under, but I'd be very weary of certain offices (*cough* Dallas *cough*) who are apparently still bleeding:

I can't really comment on the firm as a whole or outside of Texas, as I just focused depending on where I wanted to apply, but I'd at the very least strongly consider almost any other firm b/c of their traditionally low offer rates.

Only go to K&L Gates if it's your only biglaw option.

Not sure if I should start a new thread for this, but I would appreciate some valuable input to help me: I received 2 offers: one from K&L and one from a relatively smaller firm (not v100, starting salary $145 instead of $160), but the firm is growing. I've heard about all of the negative things about K&L and the horror stories of the SA no-offers. Do I choose K&L or go for the smaller firm? Both are in the same city that I want to practice litigation in.

Also, after a callback do people actually receive any rejections? Or is it just assumed if you haven't heard back from them after a week or so?

It depends on what the other firm's reputation is. Have you checked their Chambers ratings? It gives you a little bit of perspective on their practice group strengths.

It also depends on your target market. Like if you're in Texas, I'd probably go w/ 145K place, as long as it's a boutique with a good rep, you'll be fine. If they're just some random midsize firm w/o a strong reputation for good work, I'd still consider K&L... maybe. Maybe not. Yeah, idk.

Just tell us the other firm. You're anon and I assume you didn't tell each other who else you got offers from. Not like it'll out you.

Does anyone know k&l gates offer statistics for this summer?

I am also curious about if anyboody knows of any movement regarding the RTP office?
