If you want to work abroad permanently for a U.S. law firm, is it an easy route to take?

My understanding is that it can be easy if you speak the language and the branch is in high need. So if you speak Chinese and want to go there, you might just get it.

Yeah I have no specific knowledge about that. Sorry.

From my OCI research: prepare to love capital markets; it might help if you have a legit tie to London/Europe (school/family/SO). Idk that it's easy but it's definitely possible. I'm at a lower T14 and, afaik, there are a couple of people going to London every year and I know a couple of people from another lower T14 who summered there in 2014/this year. Your OCS should be able to put you in touch with a current student/recent grad who summered in London.

yeah i realized thats a huge area of practice there. However, I want to do more international trade law/investment and/or international arbitration.

Tbh, I know nothing about arbitration, but I remember a professor mentioning that Brussels is the place to be for that. I have no idea if that's true (but it does make sense). I also vaguely remember some 2Ls mentioning an arbitration moot last year, so if your school has a team, the members/coaches should be a good resource.
