Big Law Salary Progression

Before beginning my question, I realize it probably has been answered by others before. I couldn't find anything useful and have already consulted glassdoor (lol jokes).

I keep hearing from my CB interviews that the firms are commensurate with other big law firms in the area (NY and DC). What is the general progression in a "lock-step" salary environment? Merit based (if known)?

1st year associate: 160K plus bonuses (~178K?)
2nd year associate: ???

Etc.

Thanks for your help in advance!

You can probably find this information on the Vault page of the firm you're inquiring about, but they're basically all identical to this (right hand side, middle of the page) in terms of base salary.

You can probably google "Davis Polk bonus" which will list the standard bonuses that are typically being paid now. If you search "X firm bonus 2015," you'll likely be able to figure out whether your firm matched DPW's or not.

50k bonus for a third year is crazy. That's more than PI people make in a year
