For purely the reputation of the corporate practice, Clifford Chance and it's not really even all that close.

Actually I'd take milbank. Clifford's NY office is not that great, but yea of course in UK it is a top name.

Is it fair to say that Milbank is clearly better for Project Finance work, while CC has a more robust M&A practice?

Yes. Milbanks Project Finance is considered one of the best along with Skadden. Their finance groups in general are very strong. However their general corporate group (basically the M/A group) is pretty weak. They've been trying to grow it and recently got 2 new lateral partners but it still is severely lacking. They were pretty much dead all summer and don't do a lot of high profile deals.
