Thoughts on Fried Frank vs. Willkie (in NY)?

For what practice?

The consensus i believe is fried frank for lit and willkie for corp. corresponds with chambers bands too. From my own experience interviewing at both and knowing a few summers at both, willkie is more nerdy (not in a bad way). Think people who were "uncool" in hs but when they went off to college decided to be fratstars and join AEPI (this sorta describes me so I dont find it offensive lol).

Any insight on the Willkie Houston office? (Done some searching on TLS, but limited discussion about it).

Enjoyed my screener and have an upcoming CB. I know the basics (opened in 2014, practice areas, office size, etc.), but more curious about it's market perception and how the office fits in the firm's overall strategy.

I'm at one of these firms and not all of this advice is entirely on point. They're both solid corporate firms and I wouldn't let fine distinctions in these kind of rankings sway you either way.

Fried Frank is actually ranked equal to or higher than Willkie in most nationwide corporate practices in which they're both ranked, e.g.

I would lean Willkie on both. Also Willkie has more offices so more lateral opportunities.

Appreciate the advice. I am looking at M&A, so these links are particularly helpful. Thoughts on the quality of clients/work? Is one of the two getting larger/more complex deals? Also, quality of life? (a relative metric, I know)

I'm also deciding between these two firms and would love some input. How good is FFs real estate practice actually?
