Attorney Advisor (Trademarks) at USPTO 2015

I was wondering if anyone has heard back regarding an interview for this position. The vacancy number is TMO-2015-0040 and it closed on 07/09/2015. I was referred and then asked to submit an essay. From reading this forum, it seems that in the past, interviews offers after submitting the essay were quite fast.
Since then, I have received an offer at another agency but wanted to know if I have a shot at this position. I asked when they were scheduling interviews and received a response from HR saying:
"This has been an lengthy process because of the large volume of applications received. I don’t believe they anticipate scheduled interview until later this month."
I need to make a decision and want to be sure that I'm not lost in the black hole that is USAjobs. Thanks!
