Also, you can do tax without LLM, and the firm will pay for you to get an LLM.

generally, no. but you would prolly get a different answer from someone (friend of mine, anecdotal) who got an ocean law llm after graduating from a TTT without many job prospects and now works in a job they like they wouldn't have gotten without the ocean law llm.
the most notable exception is probably foreign attorneys.

Re Securities LLM, will probably not change your trajectory absent other strong factors in your favor (ex.strong prospect of working abroad in cap markets coupled with language skills and/or investment banking background and the like). Training can be useful and can be impressive to some clients esp. abroad. So for 99 percent of people on this board no does not make sense, and even for the 1 percent you should just really want to have it despite cost.

If you want to do BK then a BK LLM doesn't hurt (but it's also not entirely necessary). A few of my SDNY BK clerkship to big law friends hve BK LLMs and would probably recommend.
