Does any one know any thing about the Irell & Manella group interview structure (multiple applicants are scheduled for a 20 minute time slot)? Might it be behavioral-style, similar to big consulting firms or are they just looking to save time by interviewing us all together lol?

That usually just means they have multiple interviews (as in, multiple rooms) at the same time. They don't do group interviews, unless something has changed.

Latham and Sidley are doing CBs from various OCIs as early as next week

Also, Sidley is apparently looking to double this upcoming summer class as part of their efforts to expand their LA presence

Not sure if any 3LOLers here, but if anyone gets info about Rutan, Fisher & Phillips, Littler, and/or Pircher Nichols, it would be appreciated. I doubt anything's out yet, but just so you know there are people other than you who care haha.

Slightly above median at Penn. Haven't heard anything yet. Should I be really concerned? I've heard LA is a slow-moving market but hearing nothing at all is pretty unnerving

Someone recently broke down the LA legal market to me as the following:

Tier 1 - MTO, Irell, Gibson, Latham
Tier 2 - OMM, Skadden, Quinn Emanuel, Kirkland
Tier 3 - Paul Hastings, Sidley, MoFo, Jones Day

I know this is a dumb exercise, but are people generally in agreement with this?

I can confirm Irell is still doing standard, non-group interviews.

Depends on whether you're looking at litigation or corporate. MTO's undoubtedly the best in litigation, but I'd say Skadden and possibly even OMM is better in corporate.

What are LA offices like in terms of size? Which firms have the largest offices in LA?

This depends entirely on what you're looking for (transactional/litigation) and what specific practice group you want to be in.

QE gets shit on a lot but their flagship LA office surely has to be tier 1 for lit generally - esp if we're putting irell up there too

OMM stock is low right now, esp since their entertainment practice just got raided by lw.
