Let's talk firms, screeners, callbacks, and let's all boycott K & L GaTTTTTTes for fucking people over

I'll start: I'm at a lower T 14, have five preselects for Pittsburgh firms at OCI and have done two screeners with Cohen and Clark hill so far

Bump. Anyone else looking at the burgh?

I'm looking into the Pitt market as well but have yet to hear back from anyone. I'm at a T30 in the top third of my class and on LR. Only 2 Pitt firms are coming to OCI at my school and I was hoping to schedule some interviews before I head back. I'm unsure if that'll happen though.

Has anyone else applied online and via email rather than through OCI? And if so have you heard anything back yet?

I've gotten a couple screeners through email. And I know a girl that had a callback at K&L GaTTTTes

Would you mind telling me when you applied and which firms have given the screeners? Did you have connections at the firms?

Best advice is to just stay away from K&L Gates. Most sources are saying the firm no-offered at least 25% of its latest crop of Pittsburgh summers.

Also heard that Burns White was working its summers to death.

Heck, I even heard that Reed Smith was in some trouble.

Best bet is probably Jones Day, if you can swing it.

To the person asking which firms had screeners: Cohen and Clark hill. And I had applied like three weeks ago.

What's going on at reed smith?

FWIW, I went through the Pittsburgh market a few years ago. It is a lot slower in terms of callbacks and offers compared to the major markets.

As others have said, I would avoid K&L Gates. I almost went there during my cycle and narrowly avoided it. I do have contacts there who keep me apprised.

Jones Day might be your best bet, but know what you are getting into there as well.

How strict are Pittsburgh firms with grades compared to like NYC? And that's pretty discouraging to hear about the two biggest firms in town

How does everyone feel about Buchanan? I had a screener there I little while ago and from what I could tell it seemed to be a pretty good place?

I know someone at Buchanan and they seem to love it. Anyone have any bites yet on pre oci callbacks? Mine starts next week and I'm wondering if I'll hear back from the screeners Ive had before then

Im the anon directly above you. All screeners during OCI (which has yet to occur).

bumping for OCI. I've had screeners with all the big firms and have gotten a cb from one of the smaller ones (don't want to out myself--but think Cohen, Clark Hill, Burns White, Dickie)...havent heard anything yet from Reed Smith, K & L GaTTTTes, JD, or Buchanan. Any luck for anyone else?

I had a screener with K&L earlier this week but haven't heard anything back from them yet. I'm assuming they're still working everything out regarding callbacks.

okay thanks for that. i know regional markets are supposed to move a bit slower than new york and DC, but I've also heard back from other regionals within 24 hours. so who knows.

I have Jones Day and Cohen CBs. Dinged (via mass mail) from Buchanan weeks ago. Waiting for CB or ding from Reed Smith. K&L Gates just requested a interview today.

as in a K&L callback today? I have JD and Cohen cbs as well--hometown city, lower T14

For those getting dings, have they been sent out via email or snail mail? I'm just curious because I've received nothing at all and had a screener last Wednesday.

I'm the anon who recently got a call from K&L Gates from a resume collect. I'm going in for a hybrid screener/CB (longer than a screener but not an actual CB).

Re: dings - I've gotten one emailed ding, and one snail mail, from OCI. For MM, they've all been snail mail except for one email.

guys, please be careful with K&L Gates. that firm is shady as F.
