Do you really want to be responsible for the wave of violence certain to erupt when C/O 2017 loses these outlets for anxiety?

I unironically agree with this. It's incredibly toxic and serves no purpose.

This only makes sense if you think TLS is or should be a force for good.

Idk it really only creates stress IMO in the very rare instance where a firm calls people back over multiple days. In my year that happened exactly one time. People are just as anxious about the uncertainty and anticipation of the wait as they are when they find out they missed a firm. More information SHOULD be good, lawyer folk just like to find things to stress over.

in what world does background anxiety re "the process" have the same impact as getting tangible data points of failure in a small sample size exercise fueled by the personal insecurities of motherfucking law students of all people?

Or maybe firms should be more open in their process instead of having candidates wait 2+ weeks just to get dinged when they probably were dinged the day after their cb?

Or maybe firms keep some candidates on hold so they can compare them to a larger pool of candidates?

Law school admissions is a several month process. The real world doesn't work like that.

Still dk that i fully agree. Like when you guys mass mailed or applied for another job in your life, did you prefer them to just not let you know you had been rejected? Accepting the reality lets you move your focus jobs you still have a shot with and in this case might make people reasonably "stop reading the tea leaves and start mass mailing" instead of sitting there in blissful ignorance when they in fact have struck out.
The humble brag thing is obnoxious, I do agree there. It should only be done anonymously w/ no identifiers and there is no need for people to reply and be like "yep got a call too!" unless they get the CB another day entirely.

It's worth mentioning that these threads let you know if you're not doing well so you can adjust.
Especially for schools with two-week OCIs, this is an advantage.
