Boies Schiller CB question

Does anyone have data/information on Boies Schiller's CB offer ratio? Just wondering because they have such a small SA class if getting [/list]a callback still indicates that you have (about) as good a chance as you would at another NYC biglaw firm. I know there's always variation in CB-->offer ratios generally, but I'm just wondering if anyone know anything specific about the cb/offer ratio at Boies.

Thanks!

It greatly varies by office and year. When you're dealing with such small numbers the percentages are pretty much useless. You can have about .25 to .5 chance of an offer after callback. Could be better, could be worse.

For 2013 at CLS, they interviewed 18, called back 13, 11 went on the CB. 5 offers extended. 2 accepted. (ETA this was NYC)

But

That would be awesome -- any stats for different cites would be sweet to if you have it.

awesome thanks!

any thoughts on why the offer extended/offer accepted ratio (especially in NYC) is so [surprisingly] low?

Who knows. If it's me, and I want NYC lit, I ain't turning down that pay and you can't beat it for lit

I mean, isn't it pretty clearly a combination of A) law students being slaves to Vault, B) some people wanting a firm with a stronger corporate practice because they aren't set on lit, and C) the students who get Boies offers often having offers at other elite lit shops too? It wouldn't be surprising if a HLR person picks W&C or Keker etc. over Boies. Then add in a little of Boies having an extra sweatshoppy reputation that could lead people to take something like Paul Weiss over them, and people just having random preferences based on who they meet on their callbacks.

It's also Boies' reputation for being a sweatshop. Yes, at least you are being paid more (unlike Quinn) but many people -- even those set on lit -- don't want to work at a place where 2400 is a standard benchmark year.

Agreed on above. I wanted to do lit, but wanted nothing to do with Boies. Yeah they're above market in pay/bonus, but that reputation is tough to shake. Biglaw is crazy hours all around, but getting a rep for crazier hours in that field is pretty damning from a recruit standpoint.
