Here's the old thread:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3&t=156536
Making a new one to discuss this year's OCI / BigLaw experiences in Atlanta.
OCI bidding is happening around now, so seems like a good time to start it up.
Firms to discuss...
Alston + Bird
King + Spalding
Jones Day
Paul Hastings
Dentons
Rogers and Hardin
Fisher and Fillips
Finnegan
fish and richardson
Sutherland
Troutman Sanders
Kilpatrick Townsend
Ballard Spahr
All the other firms I didn't think of...

I'll add a few more
Arnall Golden Gregory
Hunton & Williams
Smith Gambrell
Morris Manning
Bryan Cave
Baker Donelson
Holland & Knight
Bondurant
Schiff Hardin
I either have interviews with or applied to the majority of the firms listed in this thread...and only these firms. Probably a bad idea...

From SEMJF, it seems like Atlanta is moving pretty quickly (relative to the other cities at SEMJF). Most of the firms I have heard from are starting CB interviews next week.

Since the Loyola IP Job Fair is today and tomorrow, my guess is because the two IP job fairs are back to back, and most firms won't make decisions about callbacks until both are done. I won't start freaking out about lack of callbacks until next week.

Has K&S started callbacks?

Same. Waiting has been painful. Has anyone heard anything from K&S?

Any more recent thoughts on the description of Paul Hastings in the old thread as a "sweatshop"? Paul Hastings also gets called a "hell hole" over here:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... p?t=167311.

Not sure, Paul Hastings was not at my school for OCI so they were a mass mail for me.

I've heard some not so great things about the Paul Hastings office in Atlanta (mainly about work-life balance), but I've also heard that it is still a good firm and fwiw I enjoyed the interviewers

The Paul Hastings office in Atlanta downsized pretty drastically during the shit, but mostly from the departure of some practice groups. Now its fine, if a pretty small operation. And it pays a pretty penny for Atlanta. It's biglaw hours, but nothing really remarkable compared to its peers. But like others have said, its a small regional office of a global firm, so its probably locally at a disadvantage to the big hometown players like A&B, K&S, sutherland, etc. I've heard the sweatshop reputation from other people, but the friends who I know at PH Atlanta tend to describe hours that are the same as my other friends at Sutherland, Troutman, etc. So i don't know if that helps, but I wouldn't write the office off based on the sweatshop rep alone.
Also, the office is across the street from a chick fila. Come on.

7 screeners plus one direct app through recruiter; 6 cbs. I've done four of the cbs. One offer so far. Good luck out there, everyone!

Which job fair/OCI did you get your cbs/offers from?
