Assuming 14 grades with 2 seminars at 40% Hs and Fed Lit grades at 50% per grade (there were a confirmed 27Hs for all of fed lit), average should be exactly 5.

Mods--posted in here so we could use anon and because it's more likely this will be read here than in the law student forum.

I would guess 5 given the extra Fed Lit grade this year.

But I'm not really basing that on much other than bumping up estimates from previous years by an H.

That's what I assumed too. Plus they said if you have 4 or fewer to use all of your bids, and I was told that they usually lowball that number.

I'm still missing one grade.

im guessing between four and five because more grades and fedlit inflation

As someone who got (and deserved) straight P's in fedlit...ugh.

That sucks I haven't heard of anyone getting straight Ps...I thought the whole point of that professionalism grade was to give people an H who didn't have any?

Those curves are wrong, unless they've changed since when I was there: only 33% of folks in exam classes get Hs; 40% in other classes (like Fed Lit). https://www.law.stanford.edu/sites/defa ... 202012.pdf

Obviously stuff has changed.

30% get Hs in exam classes
40% in seminars
50% for the fed lit grades.

There are 3 grades for all of fed lit for 18 people classes, and 27 available Hs. The Hs appear to have clustered between HHH and PPH.

Can't imagine why.

Lol at this poll...

This isnt even close to accurate given:
1) the poll asks what users THINK the median is, and doesnt ask for any other data
2) selection bias

The selection bias issue is why I did what people think median is, not what grades people got, because "what do you think median is" presumes you have some sort of idea. But no poll taking from top-law-schools.com/forums is going to be accurate in that sense.

Where did this 50% Hs in fed lit come from? Did you ask everyone in your fed lit class for their grades?

Apparently most fedlit instructors were told/collectively decided not to let too many people get all Ps. The term my instructor used was "spread the Hs around." So I think for a lot of sections, it was a lot of HHPs or PPHs.

My prof also dropped the "spread the H's thing." I'd assume most people had HHP or PPH (all that I've talked with have had one of these two).

Also, almost everyone I've talked with seems to have a lot more than 4 H's, although I think there's an obvious grain of salt with that.

OCS advised that people with 4 H's or under use all a lot of/all of their bids. I would say that's somewhere around median.

Just curious how everyone is doing at OCI. I have 7 Hs and have gone 5 for 15 with callbacks, bidding DC SF and NY

I don't think 7Hs is below median, but I think 7Hs with no book prizes (which is where I'm at at least) isn't that far above it, either, if it's above it at all. I think we underestimate the value of book prizes. Remember that most people put them on their resumes and firms don't get our transcripts before we interview.

I also know multiple people with straight Hs in fed lit.

Fuck fed lit.
