How likely is it that I can transfer?
Been working close to 3 years for a firm that is highly ranked in Insurance services and regulation. Firm does not pay even close to a biglaw salary though. Decided to work there because of a family member, so I did not do the entire OCI process when I was in law school. I attended a T-14 law school though and was slightly above median, with journal + clubs FWIW. Is this field in high demand in biglaw firms? Will it be tough to transfer from a non-biglaw firm that is highly ranked in this field, to a biglaw firm?

Depends upon what you are doing & whether or not your expertise in that area is in demand. Why not share more specifics ? Regardless, it's tough to lateral to biglaw from non-biglaw.
