Top Law Schools

Any comments on my bid list? Add/move/delete?

Me:

- I am a rising 2L at a T10 law school.
- 3.62 GPA (somewhere around our 85th Percentile)
- I'm a URM.
- I have a graduate degree.
- I have a few years of work experience in the entertainment industry (licensing and copyright work).
- I have no ties to NY, some ties to LA (between the two, I would prefer NY).
- I would prefer a firm with a strong corporate practice and, obviously, a media/entertainment practice (though not required).
- I would also prefer a firm that offers some sort of rotation system (although I'm heavily leaning towards corporate practice, I would like to see if I like litigation).
- 1L Summer: Federal district judge
- Still waiting to hear back about law review, but will at least be on a secondary journal.
- Finally, note that I have a bunch of interviews already scheduled before OCI in my hometown, so I feel okay being a bit more liberal with my list.

I'm sure your school has its own OCI thread and that will be much more helpful. It's impossible to give advice on where to bid firms when we don't know what school your at or where particular firms need to be bid in order to ensure an interview.

This. Off the cuff, Shearman is probably bid too low if you want to get an interview. Maybe White & Case too. From what I remember, they weren't particularly grade-selective.
