3L Letters to OCI Employers Interviewing Only 2Ls

I plan on sending emails/applications to employers coming to my OCI who are only officially interviewing 2Ls (I am a 3L). How do I go about doing this? Do I say something like "I see that you are only interviewing 2Ls, but I think I would be a good fit for your office if you have hiring needs for 3Ls?"

I assumed this wasn't possible, but now I'm curious for myself.

I don't know any more than you do, but I feel like this

is sort of assumed since you're mass mailing them?

Don't even address the 2L/3L hiring thing. Just say you're a third year student applying for a full time associate position in the fall of 2016. They understand. If they don't need 3Ls they'll tell you. No need to be apologetic about it. Lots of firms interview 3Ls but don't necessarily advertise it.

When should mass mailing happen for a 2L who isn't sure they want to go back to their firm?
