How do I quit a job I just started?

Just graduated. Accepted a job with a small to mid-size firm. Currently working part-time as a law clerk until July when I'll start studying for hte bar full-time. Then I'm supposed to return as an associate in Mid-september.

Just got a job offer from my top choice firm at a v100. Kind of came out of nowhere, they had gone silent for awhile and I assumed that I had been rejected before I accepted my current employment. How do I quit my current gig?

Should I just tell them now? Or wait until July when I'm gone for the summer.

On one hand I'd rather tell them now so they don't waste their time training me. But on the other hand it feels like it would be easier to quit when I'm not a regular part of the office anymore.

Help please. I hate confrontation lol so this is has been stressing me out.

Of course you should tell them ASAP. If you want to be considerate to them, what possible reason is there to wait?

Email them after you are done working for them this time around and say you quit.

Yeah if you don't want the money, do this.

I think it depends if it is a firm that you like and would like to keep as an option of going back to someday. If you know them well and like them and could see yourself going back if you ever needed to then I would be respectful and tell them sooner.

If not, wait til you leave to study for the bar
