Or maybe it's all these SA threads asking about which firm is best for making partner, or how/when to ask for transfers, or the general SA thread and DF offer thread nonsense.

Because people never split their SA between two offices at the same firm. NOPE not something that has ever happened.El Pollito wrote:you're not going to make partner yet and you sure as fuck aren't in a position to ask about office transfers

That reminds me this girl in my class posted something warm and fuzzy about her SA on facebook. I hope she gets an offer and biglaw crushes her soul.

Insofar as people asking to split offices pre-acceptance of a SA have even less of a job than SAs, yeah, it's pretty responsive.El Pollito wrote:This comment is totally non-responsive.OneMoreLawHopeful wrote:Because people never split their SA between two offices at the same firm. Like, the idea that it's cool for random 2Ls to ask to split offices during OCI, but they somehow lose the ability to ask for a transfer as 2nd year associates (which is what the guy in the transfer thread was actually considering) is so stupid that it's hard to comprehend.

Fair enough.
I'm just trying to not step on toes and enjoy the free lunches. Really haven't run into anyone who (obviously/outwardly) dislikes SA's but maybe they just steer clear of us.

Re: dear SAs, you don't have a job yet
A law school classmate of mine made a gloating post on Facebook back when we were 3L's that involved photos of stupid little shitty "swag" items her V20 sent her for, well, I don't know why. We're talking like a mug and some $.12 made in China keychains or someshits--I don't remember--and she was exclaiming, "OMG best swag ever! Can't wait to start in the fall!"kjartan wrote:That reminds me this girl in my class posted something warm and fuzzy about her SA on facebook. I hope she gets an offer and biglaw crushes her soul.
That was a number of years ago. It was the last time she posted anything about her job / career / law firm on Facebook. Now it's just occasional pictures of her visiting family back home and stating how much she's missed them in the past six months since she saw them.
