Interviewers calling summer employer
Is this regular practice or do they generally not do this?

Re: Interviewers calling summer employer
If you are talking about a law firm calling another law firm you summered at, then no, it is not common practice. HR knows what they are doing in that respect. Some firms, most notably Cravath, will make you sign a form at the call back giving them permission to verify with your summer firm that you received an offer to return, but that call is contingent upon them making an offer of their own.
