Switching offices post-offer?

My apologies if there is a topic on this already. I am working in a big market at a satellite office (approximately 50 attorneys). My family is moving to New York in the middle of my 3L year, so I would prefer to be in New York after graduation, as opposed to the market that I'm working in now. Provided that I get an offer and select a practice group available at the New York office, is it possible to ask to transfer? If so, how do I go about doing this diplomatically? Any information or anecdotes would be appreciated!

1. Wait til offer (you seem to gt that already)
2. Talk to recruiting folks - they'll let you know if it's a feasible move and can arrange things

It's not super uncommon - I know at least one person who went from west coast to NY after her offer but before graduation. It seems like it's easier to go to a bigger office that can absorb one more body than it is to go to a desirable satellite (some firms I know, for instance, make it pretty hard to get transferred to their DC office).

Thank you so much! Fortunately, DC is the market that I want to leave so I don't have to worry about that. :D
