Hi all: preparing for a lateral move and trying to budget somewhat accurately. Can anyone help confirm what the bi-weekly take home pay in CA is (on $160k or $170k salary)? I used paycheckcity.com but want to be sure I'm getting an accurate view of what a paycheck will look like when factoring in basics like medical/dental/vision.

My takehome was roughly 3550 bimonthly at 160 and is around 3750 bimonthly at 170. I have medical and dental coverage (as well as life insurance) but no vision. I max out my 401k, though (750/pay period), and I expect I would take home an additional 400-450 per paycheck if I didn't contribute at all.

That is really helpful, thank you. $4,000 per check (assuming no 401k contribution) sounds like it's probably a safe rough estimate starting point for budgeting purposes. Really appreciate it.
