C&F Issue

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Apr 17, 2015 4:17 pm

Turns out my car insurance expired last month. Just reinstated it but I have now received a letter from the state DMV indicating the lapse in coverage. Had to pay $50 fine. Is this is big deal? Do I disclose this type of thing?

How do you obtain your "DMV Abstract"?

differs by state, but you can either go to the dmv in person, submit a written request, or if your dmv has the capabilities, the dmv's website will compile it and prepare it as a pdf. it'll cost like, 5-10 bucks

for example, if you lived in ny, you'd go to: http://dmv.ny.gov/dmv-records/get-my-ow ... d-abstract
california: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/online/dr
florida: http://www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/abstract.html
texas: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/driverlice ... ecords.htm

whatever state you're in, if you choose to get it online, make sure its an official document. ny lets you download an official document off their page, whereas california doesn't
