1L DA's Office -> 2L Big Law

I'm wondering how a DA's Office 1L internship looks to big law firms? I'm totally aware its nothing special, I'm actually wondering if its viewed as a negative because its public sector/state level/less competitive than other 1L summer jobs. Truthfully I kind of started the job search late and with what everyone says about grades I am wondering if I would be better off trying to do really well this semester than stressing about summer jobs. The DA's office is not in a big city but its also not a rural town either, somewhere in between (not really sure if that even matters, I doubt it does). I'm at a lower top 14, top 30%. I guess my biggest concern is that in comparison to judicial interns, federal work etc. its not going to look great.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks a lot guys!

Won't help or hurt. All 1L legal jobs are basically created equally unless it is paid or leads to permanent employment. Just have interesting things to say about it in your interviews, which you no doubt will, based on my own experience at a DA's office. Almost everyone does something in the public realm 1L summer.

Nobody cares where you worked 1L summer, as long as it's legal-related.
