Child Welfare Law

I am very interested in child welfare law and would love to become an advocate for children after law school. That being said, my concern is how attainable jobs in this specific area actually are. And while it is certainly is entirely my passion, I don't want to pigeon hole myself into an area of law with few real job prospects. Can anyone speak to careers in this field and best way to work toward becoming a child advocate?
