Just to have a sense of the numbers, approximately how many 1L summer associate positions are available (total) among the Vault 100 firms? What percentage of those would be taken by 1Ls from the T14?

a good portion of the NYC V100 don't take 1Ls. I don't know of any firm in the v100 who is taking more than 1-2 1Ls. If there's ~100 1L spots in the v100 total (I doubt it's that high), barring being related to a senior associate/partner, working as a paralegal at the firm before law school, or doing the diversity SEO program, the odds of landing a 1L SA outside of the T14 are very slim.
That being said, the odds of landing a 1L SA inside the T14 is very slim.
ETA: NYC. I don't know about the other markets except D.C., where there's even less SA positions available.

I'm outside the T14 and received 3 offers from V100 firms. Each indicated they were only taking 1-2 1Ls this summer.

By the way, the anon was me.
Are you URM and/or within the top 15%? Would you disagree with anything I've stated?

Do you mean in NYC? The big Texas firms (Vinson & Elkins and baker botts) each take ~20 in Texas. By my count there are 50+ 1L spots in both Dallas and Houston (I neve looked at Austin or smaller markets). This was from looking through nalp

Each V100 firm probably has, on average, 10 1L slots, for a total of 1,000 such slots. Perhaps half are taken up by T14 students (of whom there are 4,000).
