Is the 1L SA offer rate as high as 2L SA rate, as in they offer to you to come 2L and then the full time offer comes? Or is it generally seen as a one-time thing?

The 1L SA offer that could come would be to join for 2L summer, not to be a full-time associate afterwards iirc.

No big firm will give a 1L SA a full-time offer. From what I've heard and seen, your chances of getting a return offer for next summer are about the same as the 2Ls' chances of getting a full-time offer at that firm. The threads in the post above also have good info.

And of course, there are some situations where firms simply won't give the 1L SA an offer to return for 2L summer. This is the case w/ a lot of the diversity programs out there.
