Well, a Skadden LA associate died in 2011, probably due to work-related stress. So, there's that.

Anything? General info about perks? Work-life balance? Differences between SA experience and being a first year associate?

I've heard good things. definitely not the sweatshop NYC is; people have families and seem to take time off; interesting work with brilliant people; people seem to stay there for long periods of time, which is a great sign that people are happy, even if they won't make partner.

This is Palo Alto. Don't know much about LA.

Former PA associate here - not sure I would agree with the quoted.

Corporate has had a ton of turnover. It's definitely a place where associates are on the older side - many have families - as you would expect in suburban Palo Alto.

The work is basically doing M&A/Cap Markets for chip semi-conductor clients in the valley.

The partners at my firm aren't even happy about his arrival. It was decided by the NY office because they want us to have more of a cap markets presence in LA for some reason. The guy has red flags all over him, including that he does his five year stint at a firm until his contract his up, then he moves on.

Any thoughts on the litigation side?
