This is Palo Alto. The partners at my firm aren't even happy about his arrival. It was decided by the NY office because they want us to have more of a cap markets presence in LA for some reason. Corporate has had a ton of turnover. It's definitely a place where associates are on the older side - many have families - as you would expect in suburban Palo Alto.
The work is basically doing M&A/Cap Markets for chip semi-conductor clients in the valley.
