interned at a DAs office last summer, and have an internship this summer with the office I want to work for. A- in crim, B+ in evidence, but got that dreaded B- in crim pro. Don't even know what happened. My grades otherwise are not great-below median but above top 3rd. Am I screwed for ADA jobs?

You can't be below median and also above top 3rd.

The answer to your questions depends, to some extend, on the the county in which you would like to work. Some DA's offices are EXTREMELY competitive, and others much less so.

How desperately do you want to work as a DA? Would you be willing to move to northern Idaho or southern Montana?

If your ambitions are location specific, then that's another story.

I'd like to work in a city, but size of the city is not that important to me. So really not trying to work in northern Idaho, but would be down for almost any inhabited place with, lets say, 100,000 people or more.

OP here, any other thoughts?

They will most surely care. What you will be doing is defining what the police can and cannot do. why don't you just become a cop that way it doesn't matter if you know what police can and cannot do? Also DYEL?

Neither Manhattan or Miami whipped out my transcript. Never was asked about any grades. Granted, mine were good, but still. I was asked more about things like trial experience, work experience, whether I was on moot court and or trial team, whether I took a trial advocacy class. Grades in specific classes didn't seem to be important.
