Wondering which would be better. In-house there will be no offer and small firm has a very small chance of an offer. Struck out need to chose 2L gig.

The reason in-house is appealing is because I can try to network with outstide counsel and get 3L OCI. Is that possible?Jchance wrote:Whats your long term goal? The point of 2L summer is to get a job after graduation. Take the small firm gig.
This is far fetched. Even if you have these opportunities the odds of you networking with a hiring partner are very small. Maybe someone will ask for your resume, but this seems very hard to pull off. Whichever one is a better bet for a post grad offer is the way to go. Big law has to be secondary to getting a job at this point. You're in lotto ticket odds territory. Sorry if this seems somber, but you should plan to get any post grad job now, and keep grades up for 3L OCI. It's such low odds that you shouldn't make job decisions based off of a 3 vs. a 2 percent chance of getting something.Anonymous User wrote:The reason in-house is appealing is because I can try to network with outstide counsel and get 3L OCI.
