Honestly, I am suuuuuper bored and distracting myself from finals, but was wondering what does the typical NYC biglaw firm pay for in regards to gyms? What type of corporate rates have people gotten?

Also how do you find out more about what your firm offers, i feel kind of silly if I call up the firm I will work for just to ask them about gym discounts

(NYC) At mine and friends' firms it ranged from a half to 3/4 subsidy (either for a gym of your choice or for one gym the firm finds convenient - I think all offered at least New York Sports Club and Equinox as options) or for firms with gyms in the building it might only include access to that instead of a subsidy for an external one.

be sure to include the fair value of those fringe benefits with your gross income or the IRS will come after you

Just join the gym at your college club (e.g., Yale Club, Harvard Club, Dartmouth Club, Princeton Club, Cornell Club, etc.). These gyms are quite decent.

My NYC firm has a very cheap rate for a mediocre national gym chain. And they will pay your entire monthly gym fee (at any gym) for 3 months each year.
But don't kid yourself. You likely won't have the time to reliably use the gym anyway.
