Missing Bonus Hours

How do firms deal with associates who don't hit the hours requirement to get a bonus? Do you get 0 or do they prorate or what?

I'm sure this varies firm by firm, but curious if anyone knows what the prevailing approach is?

Even if I get nothing, I'll consider the extra free time I had this year to be my bonus :)

Yes sir. My firm is if you don't hit hours, you get no bonus. Period.

At my firm, the read from associates seems to be that they change the hours req (or withhold hours from certain associates, or name your other conspiracy theory) so that they can 'match,' but still spend the amount they want to spend on the bonus pool.
