Hey guys,
What are the odds of making partner at a V50, V100 or regional biglaw? ie what percentage of people who join the firm will make partner eventually?
At my NLJ250 firm it is roughly 1-7 that make partner.

Its not probability. Its a function of how much business you can build. Firms that support you more in that will obviously have a better shot.

Just FYI: I don't think the firms you're talking about are what most people on here mean by midlaw. Just as an example, the current V100 firm is Patterson Belknapāa market-paying NYC firm with 200+ attorneys and many more associates than partners. I'd put them firmly in the BigLaw camp.
When people say "midlaw," I tend to think of lower AmLaw 200 firms (or below) that don't pay NY market and have leverage closer to 1:1 (or even have significantly more partners than associates). At those firms, making partner is pretty likely but also has a bit different meaning than at a BigLaw firm.

prolly about 50-60% of these people make partner. most of these interviews are conducted with partnership rpospects in mind from the start.

Fucking moron. You have to change standard deviations when you go up a vault tier.

Pretty sure "midlaw" is well outside of anything vault touches.

If you get a lot of major clients of your own then it's close to 100 percent. If you get none then it's close to 0 percent.

It's much higher than that, but the overall implication is the same: going to any firm expecting to make partner is like going to any TTTT expecting to get big law/clerkship. The difference is that you don't have to attain the crazy goal to have a good career.
